Stamped Concrete

Decorative stamped concrete in brick, stone, and custom patterns.

Starting from

$2,500

Stamped concrete transforms functional flatwork into a design element. At its best, it replicates the look of natural stone, brick, or wood at a fraction of the cost and with better performance in El Paso's climate. At its worst, when done poorly, it fades, chips, and looks cheap within a few years. The difference is in the execution: proper concrete mix, correct color hardener application, quality release agents, good stamp pattern placement, and appropriate sealer for El Paso's UV environment. We've done enough stamped work to know where shortcuts fail. We work with a full range of stamp patterns including flagstone, slate, cobblestone, Ashlar stone, and wood plank. Color options include single-tone and two-tone combinations. We'll show you examples before you commit to a pattern and color scheme.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Pattern & Color Selection

We present pattern and color options, discuss what works with your home exterior, and provide a written estimate.

  2. 2

    Base Preparation & Forming

Stamped concrete requires the same careful base prep as any other flatwork. We don't skip this step because the decorative finish will show any substrate movement.

  3. 3

    Pour, Color & Stamp

We apply color hardener to the surface, pour and consolidate, then stamp the pattern before the concrete reaches final set. Timing is critical.

  4. 4

    Sealing

After full cure, we apply a high-solids acrylic sealer rated for UV exposure. In El Paso, sealer selection matters, cheap sealers whiten and peel within a season.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does stamped concrete last?

The concrete itself lasts 25+ years. The surface sealer needs refreshing every 2–3 years in El Paso's UV environment to maintain the finish and color. Neglected sealing leads to fading and surface wear. With regular maintenance, stamped concrete holds up well.

Is stamped concrete slippery when wet?

Certain patterns can be slippery when wet, especially with high-gloss sealers. We can add anti-slip additive to the final sealer coat for pool decks, entries, and other wet-condition areas. Let us know the application so we can specify appropriately.

How does the cost compare to natural stone?

Stamped concrete is typically 50–70% less expensive than natural stone installation for the same area. It also performs better in El Paso's heat, natural stone can become extremely hot underfoot in full El Paso sun, and some stones deteriorate faster in our alkaline soil conditions.
